Your Questions About Anti Spyware Software Cnet

Posted by softwareguru on July 21, 2014

Maria asks…

There is a Trojan virus on my P.C. How do I wipe my computer clean and start again?

I would like to begin again. I tried some of the free anti-virus things but I could not download the program because I do not have a credit card. What do I do to make the computer completely blank again?

I appreciate your time in answering my question. Thank you.

softwareguru answers:

I don’t think you mean you want to reinstall Windows. A copy of Windows is like $300 anyway so I don’t think you would buy that.

To remove that Trojan I recommend some free security software that is just as good as free ones.

Avira AntiVir Personal.

Zone Alarm Basic Firewall. If your computer runs slow with ZoneAlarm than try PC Tools FireWall Plus.

MalwareBytes AntiMalware. The paid version just gives you protection but your firewall will do that anyway. When my friend scanned his PC with this program he found over 200 Malware and Trojans on his PC and said is browser problems finally stopped.

To make your computer run faster try CCleaner (Crap Cleaner)

Paul asks…

How do I stop that from happening, without buying the crappy software that they are advertising?

“I have something popping up that says “malicious advertising code detected” pop up whenever i go to a website, (mainly myspace and wikipedia). When I click on it, it takes me to a page where it wants me to buy some anti-virus software. How do I stop that from happening, without buying the crappy software that they are advertising?”

softwareguru answers:

Use Spyware Blaster if you use IE. I use Firefox and Avira and do not get those or worry about them.
You should download, update and run Malwarebytes, and SuperAntiSpyware in safe mode by gently tapping F-8 key, choosing Safe Mode with Networking. Run Ccleaner when finished…
